Olivia Henaayee Irwin

Olivia is Iñupiaq and Koyukon from Nenana, Alaska. She is the daughter of the late James Irwin and Gretchen Sumpter Irwin. Henaayee has spent years advocating for Yukon River Tribal and subsistence rights through her previous work at YRDFA and her efforts on multiple boards and commissions. She uses her knowledge of fisheries policy and management to engage fishermen and youth in the process and ensure sustainable runs for future generations to prosper from. Henaayee is committed to continuing to uplift Tribal voices, concerns, and needs in her new role at the Fish Commission, and looks forward to gaining a greater understanding of our peoples' shared desires for the future of our salmon relatives.
