Jim Simon, PhD

Jim has worked extensively with Alaska Native tribes and intertribal organizations throughout the Yukon, Kuskokwim, and Copper River regions, including more than a decade as Regional Program Manager for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game’s Division of Subsistence. He earned both his M.A. and PhD in Anthropology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and currently serves as an Affiliate Professor in Tribal Governance. Jim is committed to supporting Tribal leadership and strengthening Indigenous authority in the management of lands, waters, and fisheries essential to Tribal ways of life.
