Fall chum and Chinook salmon fishing is closed throughout the Yukon River drainage due to low run sizes. Coho salmon fishing remains open in most areas using selective gear types, including hook and line, dip nets, beach seines, hand lines, longlines, and fyke nets.
Gillnets with 4-inch or smaller mesh and manned fish wheels are allowed from noon Thursdays through noon Sundays, with restrictions on net length and placement. Drift gillnets are not allowed.
Permits are required in some areas, including the Upper Tanana and Koyukuk River above Bettles. See Fall Season Advisory Announcements #10–15 and the Alaska Department of Fish and Game for area-specific regulations and maps.
