The 2024 and 2025 Bering Sea pollock fishery Chinook salmon bycatch genetics stock identification results, which utilized a newly developed genetic baseline from Andy Barclay at the ADF&G Gene Conservation Laboratory, indicate that Chinook salmon originating from the Yukon and Kuskokwim Rivers and Bristol Bay collectively comprised 50% of the total prohibited species catch in 2024 and 71% in 2025.
